Fourth of July at the Jones Cabin

Last weekend Gabe and I were able to go to Montana for the fourth of July. It is one of my favorite holidays with the family and so I was glad that we got to go. So we went up Wednesday, after Gabe got home from work and went straight to Billings to spend a couple days at Mom and Dads. We even went to have lunch with Grandma B. and see her new home. That was fun to see her and she seems to be settling ok, and getting to know some people.

Then on Friday afternoon we went to the cabin to start our celebration. It was really hard to choose which pictures to put on here because there were so many. So I hope you enjoy...

This first picture is my sweet husband taking in ALL of the things that we brought. Ladies it really works to tell them that it will hurt the baby if I lift a finger:) J/K He's just really good at helping me out. But I thought this was a funny picture. He was a real champ because mom wanted to take a picture and that stuff wasn't light. So first she had to find their camera in the car, then when she got it out she couldn't turn it on. Then they had to find the batteries and then change them...then they could take the picture. It was pretty funny watching him try to hold all that stuff for all that time.

LOL!!!

When we got to the cabin on Friday, Aunt Konnie had her massage table out and Brett and Aunt Konnie were working on everyone. That was sure a treat. I have been having a lot of back and hip problems, due to the pregnancy, so Aunt Konnie was nice enough to work on me. Both Grandma and Grandpa got worked on as well and they really appreciated that.

Then of course, at the cabin, we played lots of cards. The game of the weekend was trump. We had a good time with that. Well at least I did. Gabe is more of an out door type person so he was a good sport about all the card games.

This picture above is pretty funny because Dad was sitting behind Mom and thought it would be funny to act like he was taking a picture of me, but was really taking a picture of her hand. Then he pretended to be showing all of us this picture of me... when really he was revealing to us Mom's hand!!!
There were a lot of funny moments this weekend, one of which I don't think mom would appreciate me telling you. But she was saying something I can't remember exactly but something to the effect of "Its your turn Gabey" Thats right Gabey! Well we all thought she said Baby. We had a good laugh over that to the point that you couldn't tell if mom and I were crying or laughing. Those are great moments. I also think that maybe we were all a little tired, but it was funny none the less.
This is Mike and Dottie's family preparing lunch for after the parade. The parade started at 12 so we headed down to Red Lodge at about 11:45. Parking was impossible. I can't believe how many people showed up. We ended up standing at the end of the parade and the people were either out of candy or only threw out a few for the little kids. I mean seriously, do they really think that the adults don't come for the candy. Well, you will find out later what I had to do to get my share of the candy!

Isn't this hilarious... this cooler really had a motor on it!

I always love to see Gabe with the kids. He is going to be such a cute dad.

This was really clever advertising I thought. This top picture was for budweiser with the big horses and all their expensive gear, the big wagon, and the really dalmation dog on top.

Now you have the mini horses, with the mini wagon, with the little stuffed dalmation on top for Bud Light! I don't support bear adds but this was pretty funny!

Now the hunt for the candy.... This is the little piece that appeared at my feet. I don't really have the energy or the ability to run to get the candy. So I came up with the plan to use the children. To some of you that might seem selfish and weird, but I was really looking out for them... and their parents, as it is not healthy for one child to have so much sugar....and I'm pregnant so give me a break:)

So here you will see my little go getter running back from getting a bunch of candy....
Then what she does is she puts it in Holly's pocket, whom she trusts.....

Then when she wasn't looking I would sneak the candy out of Holly's pocket and distribute it among the adults. You may think that is not nice, but all the adults were grateful and we were happy because we didn't have to handle the kids when they had too much sugar. And if it makes any of you feel better, she had no idea:) She didn't even miss it.

I thought these pictures of mom and dad were so cute.
This is my belly at 30 weeks

Then at after the parade, we went back to the cabin and played some cards, had lunch, hung out until evening, then got ready for the big bbq! So the pictures below are the pictures of us at dinner, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows...

Apparently there was something interesting going on to the right, but I don't know what it was.

I thought these pictures of Gabe and Cameron's little boy, Rollins, are so cute. He really liked Gabe, especially because he was making him smores.

Gabe makes some pretty amazing smores.

I thought this was cute of Aunt Konnie and Uncle Tim

Isn't this sweet....all the men cooking dinner for their wives. It was cute cuz dad really prides himself on making a perfectly cooked hot dog, and he does make a good hot dog.

Then when it started getting dark we started the firework show. Of course Uncle stan had brought the fireworks, and they were fun. Cameron also got his hands on some big fireworks, class B. So our firework show was doubled in size. It was awesome!!!

After the show we hung around the fire and burned all of the garbage from the fireworks. I don't know how smart that was as there were many fireworks that didn't go off but went off when we put them in the fire. But we had a really good time.

It was a great weekend and it went so fast. But there was a lot of people there that I don't get to see a lot and so I really enjoyed spending time with everyone. Then on Sunday, we all went to church, came home and ate lunch, then went on our way back to the little town of Rexburg.

I love all the pictures and the stories. I like the "Gabey" story and the picture of gabe holding ALL the gear. Was that an ENORMOUS body pillow? I am surprised Gabe isn't jealous. I have one about 1/3 the size and Cory always joked that I liked to cuddle with that more than him (he also called it my pool boy-I don't know where he got that one). Anyway, It made me a little homesick but I guess we'll be there soon enough!

You have to know the whole story. Your Uncle Tim was playing also and I was calling him Timmy and so it was Gabe's turn and I just called him Gabby....it just came out is all!
